How to become a customer without a Mobile BankID

In order to become a customer of Nordea, you have to be able to identify yourself and answer questions about why you need a bank account and visit one of our local branches. You need to bring documents that show who you are and your purpose for becoming a customer:

  • A valid identity document. If you have a Swedish personal identity number you need to present a Swedish id document. If you don’t have a Swedish id document, bring a foreign passport or other photo id issued in the EU/EES showing your citizenship. Please note that copies of passports and LMA cards are not valid identity documents.
  • If you have a coordination number you need to bring your current notice of tax assessment (A-skattsedel).
  • We might also ask you to bring documents which show the source of your funds, e.g. account statements from your bank.
  • If you are a foreign student you need to bring a letter of admission from your university or college showing the length of your course.
  • As a bank we are obliged to have information about our customers, and know how they use certain banking services. Read more about why we ask questions
