The Nordea ID device can be used

  • in our netbank
  • for identification when talking to our customer service team
  • to confirm card purchases when shopping online. 

The Nordea ID device cannot be used to obtain or renew a Mobile BankID.

The Nordea ID device has a camera to scan QR codes when logging in and confirming actions. The device is personal, which means that only you can or should use it.

You only need a Nordea ID device if you don’t have a smartphone or if you for some other reason cannot use a Mobile BankID, which is the security solution we mainly recommend. You can easily obtain a Mobile BankID by means of a personal code. See more information about Mobilt BankID here (information in Swedish).

How to activate your Nordea ID device

Before you can start using your Nordea ID device, you must activate it. When you get your device, you will also get a text message or a letter with your activation code. 

  • Have the 10-digit activation code at hand.
  • Press OK to start the device.
  • Select language. Press 3 for Swedish or 1 for English. Press OK.
  • When the camera starts, press C and enter the 10-digit activation code. Press OK.
  • Select a PIN (4–8 digits) which you will use for login and signing. Select a PIN that’s easy to remember but difficult for others to guess. Don’t write your PIN down.
  • Enter your PIN and repeat it. Press OK to confirm your PIN.
  • Your device is active and ready to use.

You can change language and PIN at any time. Press OK to start the device, select MENU to open the menu where you press button 4 to change language and button 5 to change PIN.

How to log into the netbank with a Nordea ID device

  • Go to the login page for Nordea Netbank and select the option Nordea ID device.
  • Enter your personal identity number and press OK. A QR code is shown in the netbank.
  • Press SCAN and point the camera at the QR code to scan it.
  • Verify that the text on the display corresponds to what you want to do. Press OK.
  • Enter your PIN and press OK.
  • The device produces a 9-digit response code. Enter the code in the response code field in the netbank.

How to sign actions with a Nordea ID device

  • Press SCAN and point the camera at the QR code on the signing page to scan it.
  • Verify that the text on the display corresponds to what you want to sign. Press OK.
  • Enter your PIN and press OK.
  • The device produces a 9-digit response code. Enter the code in the response code field in the netbank.

  • Press OK to activate Nordea ID-device screen.
  • Press MENU and select 2 for SIGN. 
  • Enter the 2-digit control code on the device that you have received via interactive voice response (IVR) and press OK. 
  • Enter your device PIN and press OK. 
  • The Nordea ID device creates a 9-digit response code that you enter on the phone.

The Nordea ID device and your security

The Nordea ID device is personal. This means that only you can or should use it. Your personal identity number and the codes created by the device are your signature. Don’t let anyone else use your Nordea ID device on your behalf and don’t reveal codes to anyone via e-mail, text message or over the phone.
