Consent – Facebook and Instagram

Give your consent and get more targeted information from Nordea

As a customer of Nordea Bank Abp, you have the option of receiving content on Facebook and Instagram that matches your situation. We select the content presented to you based on your situation and what you have shown interest in on our websites.

Maybe you have a mortgage or other products or use some of our specific services. What is most important to us is that you get the information best suited to your situation.

How do you find me on social media?

To present you with relevant information, we need to match your e-mail or phone number with Meta’s user database. It is only your e-mail address and/or phone number in a hashed format that is shared with Facebook and Instagram, and only if you have agreed to it. Hashing your e-mail address helps protect your identity.

In practice, this means Meta will only be able to match, for example, your e-mail address and only know it is you if you use the same e-mail address on Facebook and/or Instagram.

You are included in a target group that matches your interests

If there is a match between the e-mail address or phone number provided to us and Meta’s user database, you will be included in segments with customers that share similar interests and whose situation is like yours.

An example of a segment could be people aged 28–35 who do not have a home loan and have been looking at the housing pages on our website. We can then send you relevant information on, for example, our useful tips when buying a home.

Your financial information is safe with us – we do not share it with Meta

Your financial situation and information stay between you and us, and we do not share any of this information with Meta. No other personal data besides your e-mail address and phone number is shared with Meta, and Meta cannot use it for any other purpose than matching it with Nordea’s lists.

How to get relevant information from us

If you want to receive relevant content from us on Facebook and/or Instagram, you must:

  • be an online customer with Nordea (that is, use our mobile banking app or Netbank)
  • make sure that the e-mail address and phone number provided to Nordea and used for Facebook/Instagram is the same
  • give us permission to share your e-mail address and phone number in a hashed form with the purpose of presenting you with relevant content in your Facebook/Instagram newsfeed.

How to give and withdraw your consent

You can find an overview of your consents by:

  • logging in to our mobile banking app or Netbank
  • selecting Profile in the lower right corner (mobile banking app) or Consents in the upper right corner under your name (Netbank)
  • selecting Consents and consent to Nordea showing you relevant marketing on Facebook and Instagram.
