Open and close cards - choose where to use your card

When you receive your card from Nordea, it is inactive. The “Open and close” service enables you simply to open the card to the area of use you wish. You can select areas for purchases and withdrawals abroad. You can also allow card purchases and withdrawals in a specific region for a limited period of time. 

Internet purchases without authentication with Mobile BankID or card reader

When shopping in an online store that is not connected with 3D Secure (authentication with Mobile BankID or card reader is not required), you need prior to each purchase open you card for internet purchases. The card will then be opened for 30 minutes and then shut down automatically for internet purchases. 

Internet purchases on secure online stores

When shopping in online stores connected to 3D Secure (requires you to approve purchase with Mobile BankID or card reader). You do not have to do anything; the card will be opened automatically at the time of purchase. 

The service is free of charge

The service is free of charge and you can change your settings as often as you like. The settings you select apply immediately. 

Subscriptions

If you have registered your card for a subscription (such as Spotify or iTunes), you must permit online purchases for your card, otherwise the amount cannot be drawn. 

Block card

If you block your card you must reselect the desired settings because they are not automatically transferred from the old card. If you receive a new replacement card (with the same card number), the settings are automatically transferred from the old card to the new one.
